I am going to attempt to restart the Relax Remedy blog, although I have yet to decide if it will be on weekly, monthly or when inspiration hits me. I feel that small companies like ours should do some sort of blog or update, if for no other reason than to help our customers feel a connection to the brand. When the world is filled with so many large, faceless conglomerates out there, I feel it is important to show the human and personal touch that Relax Remedy provides. So going forward I will be regularly updating this page, and we would love to hear your thoughts and feedback.
I decided to start Relax Remedy over 5 years ago when I was caught up in the stresses of everyday life and found everything so overwhelming. I reached a point where not only did I find it very hard to relax and calm down, but I also realized the lifestyle I was living wasn’t the healthiest. I started to look around for things I could do and add into my diet to help improve my mental and physical wellbeing. However I struggled to find things that were natural, not filled with chemicals or artificial ingredients and didn’t require a doctor’s prescription. So I started to do some research, and began to source products from around the world to use to help me relax and feel healthier. I began to feel the benefits almost immediately. I was sleeping better, had more energy during the day, my mood improved, and I just felt happier in myself. I had lots of friends and family asking for the links to the items I was using, as they could see for themselves the impact these products were having on my life, which is when I decided to share what I found with the world. Relax Remedy was born.
One of the biggest things I have been doing over the last few years to help me relax is to take some time for myself daily. I know sometimes this feels next to impossible as with everything that needs to be done in a day (commuting, dealing with children, paying bills, cleaning the house, the list is endless), it is easy to get swept up and forget about yourself. However I have discovered the days that I do take even 10 minutes for myself, I instantly feel better. My current favorite thing to do for myself is when I get home from work. I have fallen in love with our ‘5 o’clock Somewhere’ tea, so I brew myself a cup, and take it outside to our back porch and sit there enjoying the lovely August late afternoon sunshine. I will hold my hands up and admit I have a slight screen addiction. I tend to always have my phone, laptop or iPad within a few feet of me, and I have been trying to cut down on this. So when I am sitting outside with my tea, I leave my phone inside, to avoid the temptation to look at it, and try and take some time to just focus on the moment. I have never had any real success mediating, I just can’t seem to switch off the voice in my head, so instead, I try and think about what things at that exact moment makes me happy. It could be my cat joining me outside, the fact that the sun is making beautiful patterns through the trees, or even something as simple as my tea is the perfect temperature (99% of the time my tea seems to be burning hot, and then suddenly it is tepid, and I missed the ‘perfect temperature’ window). Before long it is time for me to get up and get on with things, unloading the dishwasher, cleaning the litter tray or start thinking about dinner, but taking those 10-20 minutes between finishing work and starting my evening helps me feel calmer and just generally happier.
When I started my journey into living a healthier more natural lifestyle it was slightly overwhelming trying to figure out what would help me. This is why Relax Remedy has always ensured to offer small reasonably priced starter sizes along with including free samples with every order. If you too are in a similar situation we recommend starting with small sizes of new products you’re just trying. You’re also more than welcome to get in touch with us.
